The wait is finally over: Carmelo Anthony now plays for the New York Knicks. Not very many other people play for the New York Knicks anymore, but now he does. The Denver Post had the news first, so we can forgive them, since it's not that late out there yet.
The Knicks apparently spent all day deciding whether or not to include Timofey Mozgov in the deal. Not surprisingly, considering how eager the team suddenly became to get 'Melo over the weekend, they caved.
But that doesn't really matter.
What matters, as pointed out by Nate Silver, is that the Knicks have three men under contract for the 2012/2013 season: Anthony, Stoudemire and Balkman. (Balkman!) Which means we're about to go through last summer's madness, once again, in a couple of years. Assuming, of course, there is an NBA in a couple of years. The Knicks apparently spent all day deciding whether or not to include Timofey Mozgov in the deal. We'll get into the future tomorrow, though. Right now: Carmelo Anthony plays for the Knicks. He'll actually play for them Wednesday. If you have tickets to the game against the Bucks, their resale value just went crazy.
